The Royal Ballet tops the short-list with 14 nominations. English National Ballet and Rambert have seven, and Birmingham Royal Ballet five.
Her new piece will form one third of Generations: Three Short Ballets, a trio of works created by choreographers from across the generations
“We are not treating them like kids. [They] have to put on a large-scale West End performance. We’re asking a lot of them, but they are so rising to it.”
She explains that the work explores the complex layering of the various forms of decay, fading and loss to which we are forever exposed…
