RB Dance Company: Stories

Peacock Theatre, London
October 15, 2026

Two years ago, I started a review of RB Dance Company’s Stories by saying, “Alert! Rave review coming! It is incredibly rare that a performance is so exceptional that there is nothing to say about it except that it is outstanding in every respect.”

Two years on, nothing has changed. In fact, if possible, it is even better. This year there are 10 dancers, all multi-talented, commanding the stage at every step, and leaving an indelible impression, as they perform Romain Rachline Borgeaud’s marvellous work.

Borgeaud not only choreographed but also composed the music and songs for Stories, the latter of which provides the story thread running through the piece, about a young actor, who despite being famous, is under the dark influence of his director.

Dancers of such high calibre, consummate acting ability, and superbly skilled in tap dancing are a rare combination. Stories isn’t just dance at its absolute best, it’s theatre its absolute best. Huge plaudits also go to the technical team; the lighting, sound, set design, costumes, hair and make-up are all top notch, and chime perfectly with the choreography, supporting and enhancing the dancers in bringing Borgeaud’s inspired creation to the stage.

Two years ago, I commented that Stories deserves a much longer run. This year they get it with a 20-performance run of the spectacular show in London, followed by a six-stop UK tour. The company website says this will be the show’s final tour. If it is not already sold-out, grab a ticket. Everyone should experience this wonderful, totally captivating unique piece of theatre.

Stories by RB Dance Company is at the Peacock Theatre, London to October 31, 2026, then on tour to Northampton, Stockton, Bournemouth, Bradford, Edinburgh and Truro,
